I’ve never seen a F1 season so unpredictable as this one. You can’t bet your money on anyone or anything. Biggest changes are: No Michael Schumacher, no Michelin, no Ross Brawn, and certainly no Fernando Alonso in a Renault. It’s a complete change at a lot of ends, which makes the season more so unpredictable. Things will be very interesting in the initial part of the season, although things won’t be clear as to who will dominate, if at all someone does manage to, to win the title convincingly. Read more…

After months of speculations as to whom will the luxury car brand be sold, finally had a new owner. Ford Motor Company sold the firm to a UK based consortium for £479m ($924m). It takes Aston Martin back to Britain, after a two decade of ownership under Ford. The iconic car maker is well known for the Aston Martin Vanquish & Aston Martin DB9 cars and also famous for being the car of the spy James Bond in the series by Ian Fleming. The consortium which bought the controlling stake in the firm is led by David Richards, boss of motorsport firm Prodrive, and some Kuwaiti investors as well. This should do a great deal of help to Ford, who is in deep financial trouble recently. The American car maker reportedly lost more than a whooping $12bn last year. Even for Aston Martin its a good cause as the company is secured, and with David Richards at the cause, the company will be active in motorsports. David Richard’s Prodrive firm won a place in the 2008 Formula One Season, fighting off some other constructors to secure the only seat. Prodrive is also active in the World Rally Championship as the Subaru World Rally Team.

Ta Ra Rum Pum
Directed by: Siddharth Anand
Produced by: Aditya Chopra
Cast: Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji
I went to Yash Raj Films’s website, and saw this new flick’s promo coming up. Ta Ra Rum Pum is the name, directed by Siddharth Anand of Salaam Namaste fame. With Saif and Rani at the star cast, I expected it to be another of those Yash Raj films with same old love stories, but then the trailer somewhat shocked me. They had a story of Saif as a NASCAR racer!!! I mean who in India knows about NASCAR leave alone watching it? And what made Yash Raj/Siddharth Anand think that this should be a life story of a racer? Seriously I’m out of thoughts here. The trailer gives me the impression that its a happy family, with great things happening, and then Saif has a big racing accident, which makes his family think that he should give up racing. Then the same old fights and melodrama, and then things get better again. Well this is what I felt after looking the trailer. One can only tell after the movie comes out. Overall the NASCAR shots were looking great in the trailer, although one scene was hard to digest, the scene in which they showed a car ramming into the car and kaboom!…a blast! I’ve never seen a “blast” in a NASCAR event, dunno if it does happen. The music was good in the trailer. The movie since based on a NASCAR racer, is of course shot and based in the USA. So lets see what Sid Anand shows us this time, I loved his last movie Salaam Namaste very much, and it is in my list of favorite movies.
The movie is slated for a 27 April 2007 release.
The trailer can be viewed on the official movie site.
Jai Mata Di!
My small vacation finally ended when I returned from Jaipur yesterday. It was a memorable trip, had lots of fun. I went to the Holy Shrine along with my friends. I will put this as a part by part story.
Gurgaon to Jammu: My friends were coming from Jaipur, they had already boarded the train from Jaipur, I was to board in the way from Gurgaon.
