Casino Royale Poster

Cast

Plot

Daniel Craig gets his 00 status, and is now tracking Le Chiffre, a banker who specializes in taking care of the terrorists’s accounts. Bond then enters Casino Royale to play a game of Poker with Le Chiffre, who in turn was playing to win back the money he lost in a bet over a jetliner sabotage at the airport. So a lot of things happen during these days over at Casino Royale. Bond wins finally, but then the truth baffles him, and he gets even with the baddies.

Review
Honestly, this is the first Bond movie which I thoroughly enjoyed watching. It indeed takes Bond “back to his roots”. The plot of the movie is nice, good pace, very well presented. Action scenes are very well shot, the chase sequence in the beginning will really take your breath away. The background music is very nice. And that Bond theme still feels nice to listen to. Lovely locations as well. The best part of the movie was that nothing was overdid, unlike the previous few Bond movies which had too much of gadgetry and visual effects. This has a new feel, which is timed well as a new sixth Bond has come up. And what can be a Bond movie without a Bond girl & an Aston Martin. Eva Green did a good performance. Looks awesome in that dress which Bond gives her. Caterina Murino too looked great in her small role. As for the Aston, there were two of them, Aston Martin DBS & a Aston Martin DB5. Both were lovely.
Overall a great movie to watch. The next Bond film will certainly have to live up to the new standards.
Until then, “The name’s Bond. James Bond”.

Rating
I give it 8.5 out of 10

Google Talk speaks to Orkut

November 8th, 2006

Orkut Logo Google Talk Logo

I logged into my Orkut account as usual, and I noticed something new. Yes!!! Google finally did it! I wanted that feature so badly, Google integrated Orkut and Google Talk this morning, which will now allow you to import all your orkut contacts into the Google Talk messenger, and now chat with all your orkut buddies. This will be a great thing to all those who use the scrapbooks like a chat window, so thats a great news. Google keeps getting better and better. Whenever anyone of your friend will be online on Google Talk, their online status will be visible in the friends list as well, so you now know who all are online. And Google Talk has got some more buttons which is due to the orkut integration. Prominently the scrap button (it opens the scrapbook of the user) and other the view profile button (it opens the user’s profile)
Get Google Talk from here if you don’t have it…

Karthikeyan Confirmed for 2007

September 28th, 2006

Narain Karthikeyan

WilliamsF1 today confirmed the re-appointment of Narain Karthikeyan (IND) as one of the team’s official test drivers for the 2007 season.

Karthikeyan, who joined the squad in 2006, will add a vital element of continuity to the team’s test and development programme as WilliamsF1 forms a new technical alliance with Toyota in 2007. Narain piloted the partnership’s first collaborative efforts on track at Silverstone earlier this month with an interim FW28B carrying the Toyota V8 and the new Williams gearbox and he will continue to spearhead the intensive testing programme into 2007 with the launch of the FW29.

As Formula One moves to a single tyre supplier for next season, Narain’s detailed Bridgestone experience will be invaluable to the team, given his racing experience with the Toyota-powered Jordan and Bridgestone in 2005 and testing with Williams in 2006.

On confirmation of Narain’s re-appointment, WilliamsF1 Team Principal, Frank Williams said, “Next year will be an important year for Williams with the transition to Toyota power and so it is now clear that we will be well positioned with the continuity and benefit of Narain’s experience. His appointment is extremely popular within the team because he is hard working, conscientious and capable in the car. It is also significant that Narain carries with him India’s growing Formula One interests, which is very exciting.”

For his part, Narain responded, “Naturally as a racing driver, my first priority is to compete, but I would far rather test with a leading team than accept a race seat that offered no real potential to learn and develop. Next season is extremely important for Williams with the new partners at Toyota. Williams is a team that exists only to race and I hope that whatever I can contribute to this ultimate objective will be valued by the team.”

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest Review

July 26th, 2006

Poster of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

I had been waiting for the sequel ever since I came to know about it. The first movie was a pretty entertaining one, and easily managed to enter my elite list of favorite movies. And not without reason, the movie was entertaining, had lots of humour, it had Keira Knightley, but the best part of the movie was Johnny Depp. Jack Sparrow was the main character of course and the whole plot revolves around him.
