And I’m so gutted to have written that post title. Absolutely shattered and sad about the way things happened. From a neutral point of view it might have been a great season, but for Massa and everyone who likes and supports him, its been a day to forget. Knowing what he had to do Felipe Massa did all he could, got the pole position, drove the the fastest lap during the race and eventually won it, and while winning it in hope that he just won the title too, but for the luck. Lewis Hamilton was behind Timo Glock when at the very last corner of the race, during the uphill climb, he overtakes Glock and grabs that 1 crucial point which sealed the title in his favor. For a moment I felt as if something was fishy in that move, why did the huge lead which Glock had over Hamilton suddenly just vanish over a single lap, and although Glock has said he was loosing grip, which might be even true, its caused an irreversible verdict on the championship. Many a times its been said that sports can be cruel at times, and we once again saw what it meant. I never felt this bad when Michael Schumacher lost the titles to Fernando Alonso, Alonso drove like a champ and won it, although that engine failure at Japan broke my heart when Schumi’s last hope went up in smoke, but still I always hated Lewis Hamilton and this year the hatred reaches supreme levels. Some of Lewis’s fans might argue with me, but then a champion is not just about who has the maximum points at the end of the season, its also about the way he gets the maximum points. Luck has been with him as much as against him, but whenever it was with him he benefitted more than when it wasn’t. And when that happens you have more good days than the bad ones. Anyways congratulations to Lewis Hamilton for winning the title. And Massa will have his day someday.
Sports formula one
Its the final race of the season and its the Brazilian Felipe Massa in his home race against the Brit Lewis Hamilton. The math is simple:
Hamilton will be champion if:
- He finishes fifth or higher
- He finishes sixth and Massa is second or lower
- He finishes seventh and Massa is second or lower
- He finishes eighth and Massa is third or lower
- He fails to score and Massa is third or lower
Massa will be champion if:
- He wins and Hamilton finishes sixth or lower
- He finishes second and Hamilton is eighth or lower
If the pair are tied on points at the end of Sunday afternoon (which would happen is Massa wins with Hamilton sixth, or if Massa finishes second with Hamilton eighth), Massa would win the title by virtue of more victories (six to Hamilton’s five) or more second-place finishes (three to Hamilton’s two).
So there you have it, both know what they have to do, and both know the stakes. Hamilton might be in a comfortable position thanks to the seven point lead he has, but he knows that it aint over till its over, and Massa would love to win the title at home infront of his fans and becoming the first Formula 1 champion since the great Ayrton Senna. Last season too Hamilton was in a comfortable position, he lost the title to Kimi Raikkonen. Constructors’ wise, Ferrari’s 11-point lead should be enough to win their title from McLaren. BMW Sauber is 10-point behind McLaren so they still have an outside chance of grabbing second from McLaren.
Its also the final grand prix of David Coulthard, aka DC. The oldest man on grid and a veteran of 245 grands prix starts, DC has been a popular figure in F1. Never won the title, 13 wins over a career of 15 years, with his last win in the 2003 season. Not an out and out championship material but he’s been always a tough guy to overtake. DC will surely be missed in F1. Farewell DC.
Here is the race schedule (all timings are in IST):
FRI Practice 1 17:30
FRI Practice 2 21:30
SAT Practice 18:30
SAT Qualifying 21:30
SUN Race 22:30
You just cant miss all the action. And I hope its Massa who wins it.

He might not be in the best of positions in this year’s Formula 1 World Championship, but when its all about going around the track the fastest, no one beats Kimi, the flying finn has been in flying form when its about fastest laps. Raikkonen has already got 10 fastest laps this year, even with three races remaining, and no other driver has even more than 2 fastest laps, its pretty clear who’s the fastest on track, and the biggest surprise is that Lewis Hamilton, who is leading the World Championship doesnt even have a single fastest lap this season! Last season too Kimi had the most number of wins and shared the highest number of fastest laps with Felipe Massa. And not only that, Kimi is already upto third in the all time fastest laps list.
Top ten drivers in Formula 1 with fastest laps
1. Michael Schumacher 76
2. Alain Prost 41
3. Kimi Räikkönen 35
4. Nigel Mansell 30
5. Jim Clark 28
6. Mika Häkkinen 25
7. Niki Lauda 24
8. Juan Manuel Fangio 23
9. Nelson Piquet 23
10. Gerhard Berger 21

Google Chrome
Whenever Google comes up with something new, it grabs the headlines, but surprisingly, when a product of this magnitude and importance, a “Google” web browser is being launched, I didn’t even know about it before a day of its launch. Now I’m a regular net user and Chrome’s launch couldn’t have escaped my eyes, but maybe Google didnt publicise it much or I didn’t really pay attention. Whatever the case, the Google browser is here and its a typical Google product.
Google Chrome is “very” minimalistic and simple, its free and an open source software. Has the regular browser features like Tabbed Browsing, bookmarks, but all you see on the browser is the address bar and a tab, it doesn’t even have a status bar or a menu bar, although you do see the URL of a link when you hover your mouse over it in the area where the status bar usually is. The browser options are very limited and you can’t play around with so many settings which the other browsers provide you. The address bar also lets you do a web search and access web history right from the address bar. While opening a new tab it lets you choose among the most visited websites displayed in a thumbnail grid similar to that of IE 7, Opera. If you close any tab and open a new tab, it displays the list of recently closed tabs right next to the most visited thumbnail grid. Then there is a Incognito mode, which is more like a browser without leaving a trace, whatever you browse isn’t added in the web history, and wont even leave the cookies behind. Useful if its on a public computer or office networks where you don’t wanna leave a trace behind. The download manager is pretty much like Firefox with Download Statusbar installed, although it doesn’t show the download speed, or the progress in percentage. It sites neatly in the bottom of the browser window.

Download in Chrome
My browsing experience was pretty good with Chrome, with web pages loading very quickly and efficiently. The memory consumption is pretty much like what IE 7 consumes. So in short it looks promising but a great deal of work needs to be done on the browser. I for now will still use Mozilla Firefox as I’m so used to it that without some of the addons which I use in Firefox, I can’t enjoy my browsing experience. I’m sure Google will be adding the addons functionality, although I read at Wikipedia that it doesn’t support the *.xpi extension architecture which Firefox uses, so I’m not quite sure if Google can manage that level of addon functionality, so till then I guess I’ll be using Mozilla Firefox.

Ok so the first trailer for the Fast and Furious, aka Fast and the Furious 4, is out, like I earlier mentioned it has Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster returning in their roles from the first movie. According to Wikipedia the plot is this:
Brian (Paul Walker) is freed from prison, after being undercover, to help the feds stop a heroin importer known as Braga. With the help of an informant named James Park, Brian—and ultimately Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) wins a place on the criminal’s team, where he and Toretto plan to catch the man red handed. This film also shows how Han met Toretto and how he got his car (shown at the end of Tokyo Drift).
The trailer looks cool, the hijacking of tankers of gasoline scene reminds you of the similar scene in the first movie. The trailer shows lots and lots of action and cars. Not much is known right now about the cars, will surely post more as I find out. This movie should do better than Tokyo Drift atleast, whatever, it should satisfy the fans and I’m surely waiting for it. Its slated for a June 5, 2009 release.

So today is my 23rd Birthday, 23 years, jeez I’m getting old!!! he he…no but I hate getting older, I know everyone does, but in my case I just can’t have enough of it, these days, can’t just let them go. Anyways, since my last birthday, I have got some new stuff, my phone, my new PC, and some more stuff, most importantly I have learnt a lot in life in all these 23 years and there will be a lot to learn and understand life. A lot is still there in store for me, and I hope things get better and better. Ok enough of this crap, I really have no plans about the day, its 12:29 AM as I’m writing this, I have a whole day to think about it, I’ll goto work, probably meet a few friends after that then have a nice dinner with my family, I guess thats it. Lets see how things work out.
About Me
Just recently I posted about Reliance ADAG’s interest in forming a new production house with Steven Spielberg, and then this news comes out, that Big Home Video, one of Reliance ADAG’s entertainment company has signed with Warner Home Video to become the exclusive licensee in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. This means that Reliance is seriously entering the entertainment business with all the happenings. They have already launched a movie rental website, BigFlicks which means that even the Warner movies could be on the rental distribution too. Warner is a well known production house with a large number of big movies like Superman, Batman, Harry Potter, The Matrix Series, Ocean’s 11and many more.

Yes you read that correct, from a casual browsing of some movie related news I landed upon a news that caught my eye. India’s Reliance ADAG or Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group was in talks with DreamWorks to form a new studio with the DreamWorks’ co-founder Steven Spielberg. Spielberg founded DreamWorks in 1994. Since Paramount now owns DreamWorks, Reliance and Mr. Spielberg will form a new studio, IF the deal does work out. According to the various sites which carried the news, the new group will get most of its money from Reliance ADAG. Its ofcourse a great event in the history of film making becaue the biggest filmmaker in Hollywood would be teaming up with the biggest company in India. Reliance ADAG is already involved in the entertainment business with Adlabs, Big 92.7 fm and BigFlicks to name a few. And the teaming up with Steven Spielberg will do wonders, as both Steven Spielberg and DreamWorks need no introduction. They have made some well known movies like Saving Private Ryan, Minority Report, War of the Worlds and Transformers to name a few. So if the things work out, the upcoming Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen could well be under the new group.
