When I saw the first teaser I knew it would be interesting, when I saw the theatrical trailer I was anticipating the release, and when I finally saw the movie I was awestruck. What a movie! Really awesome!
Although I saw it late due to some reasons beyond my control, but I’m glad I finally did watch it. Now whenever Steven Spielberg becomes a producer for a movie you can be rest assured that its going to be an interesting one. Because he doesn’t like to be a part of a project which he thinks isn’t great, and with Michael Bay as the Director you could always expect a lot of fireworks. Now I didn’t know anything about Hasbro’s transforming alien robots, but when I came to know of the movie I did a wikipedia search on it and was quite exited about the whole thing, and the trailers really made it all the more interesting.

The movie is about some highly advanced alien robots who are from a planet Cybertron, which is destroyed in search for a very powerful thing called Allspark, so the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons are after it. The leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime leads his Autobots and finds Sam Witwicky, who has the location of the Allspark unknowingly with him. So they find it and fight the evil Decepticons.

Now the story is quite good, but the only thing which will capture your attention is the awesome special effects in the movie. They are simply outstanding. Industrial Light & Magic once again churned out some superb eye candy. Those who haven’t heard of Industrial Light & Magic, they are the ones who have worked on the special effects of all the famous movies you’ve seen like Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, Steven Spielberg’s War of the Worlds, Jurassic Park to name a few, and they are in this business ever sine special effects were in the initial stages on big screen. Star Wars, Terminator 2 and The Mask had their magic in it as well. Anyways back to Transformers, the whole transformation thing was pretty cool and very well done. The way those robots transformed into the vehicles was really amazingly superb. Hats off to those guys. The background score was equally good and the fight scenes were really well shot and presented.

Acting wise Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox both were pretty good, but then the movie was all about the robots. Still both the actors were good. Megan Fox was very sexy and stunning. She really has a very toned bod. Apart from that the voices given to the robots were good. Hugo Weaving gave the voice of Megatron. Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus Prime in the 1980s cartoon, gave the voice in the movie as well.

Overall the movie really amazes you with the wonderful effects it has and never really lets you move out of the seats. The sequels are coming, so I can’t really wait for them. And its great to know that the current actors will again resume their roles in the movie. So its a great thing in terms of continuity.

Rating 9.5/10
